Hangover
Hangover is an unpleasant feeling following heavy consumption of alcohol. The most commonly symptoms are headache, nausea, weakness, vomiting, pessimism. Hangover is caused by acetic aldehyde which is in the liver because of ethanol metabolism . About 80 % of people who have ingested alcohol had a hangover and 20% of students has a hangover every week. Alcohol is a diuretic, drinking 100 ml of alcohol means it makes the body lose 400 ml of water and we feel like drinking. Alcohol contains 100kcal in 500ml.How to avoid hangover:
- Eat before drinking –it is advised to eat fatty food so that the metabolism of alcohol lasts as long as possible and the process of absorption alcohol to blood will be longer.
- Eat vitamin B Complex and C.
- Drink a glass of full fat milk which will slow down absorption alcohol to blood and protects your stomach against negative effects.
- Drink fruit juices and still mineral water while drinking alcohol.
- Do not drink sparkling mineral water.
- Do not drink cheap wine, rum, whiskey which contains the biggest amount of toxins, methanol- that’s why we feel so badly the next day.
- Never mix alcohols.
- Do not smoke.
What to do the next day:
| Eat eggs | It helps to reduce the feeling of a hangover because eggs contain cysteine which kills toxins. |
| Eat fruits(banana, kiwi, Apples), vegetables(carrot) | Eat one spoon of money –it provides your body with Potassium and it reduces the symptoms of a hangover. |
| Consume energetic drinks | They provides your body with glucose. |
| Drink mineral water | It cleans your body from toxins and provide you with water. |
| Drink fruit juice | It provides you with vitamin and cleans your body from toxins. |
| Eat brown bread, honey or pasta | It provides you with sugar. |

| Take a shower | You feel better and you get rid of toxins. |
We also advice:
- Go for a walk
- Eat chicken soup
- Drink camomile tea, raw cabbage or yoghurt
- Take Vitamin B complex and C
Remarks:
- Don’t drink coffee the next day. You must provide your body with water and not t0 remove it.
- Don’t drink alcohol the ext day. Even little amount of alcohol extends the process of metabolism.
- Sleep slows down metabolism – it means also metabolism of alcohol.
- Don’t take the pain killer before going to bed. If you have to take it do it he next day.

- The risk of death of alcohol is when someone has 4 per mille.
